Suggestion for Diplay List of Documents as Home page
Suggestion:
i checked the home page of this, does not lists the available documents.
Appreciate if this can be designed as department wise so that list of user assigned for that specific department only can see those documents.
Appreciate if home screen can be customized so that admin can make the home screen to different for up-loader and viewer different
hope these changes can be seen in upcoming versions

Allow each user to be assigned to more than one department
Allow the edit/add user form to use a multi-select list for Department. This would allow users to inherit permissions for files for more than their single department.

Implement QR code protection of physical copies of a document
Physical copies of digital documents need some way to be secured. I suggest a QR code to be generated for a particular version of a document, and printed somewhere on the physical copy. The QR code should contain an obfuscated link to the digital copy, which allows a person to verify that the physical copy has not been tampered with. (Other than the addition of the QR code.)

Problem with persian characters.
When adding new document whose name consists persian characters, characters will be shown as '?'

URL (web-link) to any document
Many systems use a URL (weblink) to a given document so that work instructions, drawings, etc are readily available to users who may not have email or ODM user credentials.
Could a file permission be added either as a default or by file to allow read only access to individual files without a login (if you know the link).
I suppose I could have a link directly to a file if I put them in the public http folder but as the documentation says this is not as secure. However then I'd be the only one able to tell others…

automated file adding from a scanner using header or OCR part of the document scanned
using a header document followed by document(s) scanned to be stored using criteria on the header like " department , category , specific place (like staff file for administration)

Document Change Request
Users see problems with documents but there is no way to easily tell the owner about the problem. The DCS should embody continuous improvement.
A related problem in a new DCS is that there is a need for a document but now way to create the demand and route it to a user.

Please give an update on this project. The two most asked for requests - LDAP/AD integration and sub-folder report - are preventing me from using this otherwide-great solution.

Use amazon s3 storage as an optional/backup storgae or use it as primary storage option
Opendocman should have an option to choose primary storage (harddrive or amazon s3) thus free cloud storage can be leveraged (info at amazonaws.com)

History version is showing the numbers but current document is opening
I am trying to see if version of the document is working, I added 3 different versions of the same document by check-out & check-in options. The document is showing the number links in history, but when I clicked the first version it is opening the latest document...I want to see what has been changed by referring to old version or I want to replace the current version with old version document....I feel a challenge here...please guide.

An Architect or Construction firm may have multiple projects which need to be documented seperately. And each projects be able to be used only by assigned users and not all users.
