  2. Don't display file list after log in

    The file list for a user should not be displayed after login. In some organizations, the list could consist of thousands to millions of documents, most of which the user does not care about. Only display a file list if a user searches for a document or group of documents.

  3. Extend Search Feature

    Extended search feature:
    Boolean search for multiple words/phrases with the use of ‘AND – OR’ statements.
    EXAMPLE: perform search in description and comment fields for:
    1- Teenage Mothers (single phrase search - currently implemented)
    2- Mothers ‘AND’ Teenage
    3- Mothers ‘OR’ Teenage

  9. Allow moving documents to assignable folders once they are reviewed and sent out mail for such action for related people to know the status

    Consider a case of Vendor Invoice recieved by accounts requiring review by reviewer, now the accounts department would scan and post the document, once reviewed it would move "reviewed folder" so that now accounts know which Invoices to settle and users gets clutter free view of files pending for review. This is just a case for one department such functionality would help across many departments like accounts, stores document (GRN's), design, marketing etc... Clutter of pending documents and reviewed documents in a common list view would be reduced.

  11. Online help links point to Wiki Pages.

    It would be cool to have the context sensitive help links point to wiki pages or to the help pages which ship with the software (offline version of the WIKI?).

    That way the documentation could hopefully be updated in just one place.

  12. Allow users to assign categories to a specific department.

    Add double depth searches or sorting so you can create a department and have categories assigned to it then in search you choose your dept and it shows the available categories for that dept then a wild card search of the resulting list of docs.

  19. Feature - Add file encryption to the files

    Add file encryption to the files stored in the dataDir folder so that a special hash would be used to encrypt/decrypt the files inside OpenDocMan. This would make the files un-readable by other users of the server where the files reside. There could be issues where the files would be encrypted and then the key lost, therefore losing the files. Would need to figure out a good way of handing this.

  20. Allow quick e-mail sharing of document

    After finding a document, allow quick sharing (via e-mail), with the document's direct download path included in the e-mails body.
    This allows for example a technical support guy to send a programming manual quickly to a client, with a one button click after finding it.
