  1. Look into adding a feature for putting a document on expiration hold.

    Stored doucmetns are subject to subpoenas and may not be purged until the subpoena is lifted. Suggest you add the capability to create a hold, such as a subpoena, and then assign documents to that hold. A given document may be covered by multiple holds and can only be purged when it is expired and not on any holds.

  4. It's a great product with not so great upgrade instructions. Please improve

    I feel that if you fixed that you'd have heaps more users if your upgrade process would include more detailed info.
    What config details/files need to be copied to the new location in order to be able to perform an upgrade?
    What's with this Database Admin password (apart from the DB user Password)?
    Why does it say it's for new installs only when we are just updating the DB?
    why does that page return unable to log in as loacalhost@..... when entering a user???
    Too many questions the system asks/demands answers to proceed

  6. make your platform SAML compliant

    It would be good for your business/platform to be SAML 2.0 or WS-FED compliant. Fairly straight forward and easy to do and it would bring your platform in line with all your competitor, Making your platform, to my opinion, the best out there therefore generating revenue.

  9. Add a 'progress-bar' to the upload document screen.

    Upload large documents using Asymetric DSL is sometimes pretty slow. Sometimes it may look stuck. A progress bar will show if you have time to grab a beer or make a coffee ;) I'am serious. J.

  11. add the possibility of defining a 'hot' folder / directory in OpenDocman.

    Hi, I would like to suggest the addition of defining a 'hot' folder / directory in OpenDocman. The idea should be that this particular folder is checked when an admin user is logging in and that the adminuser can be taken to a screen where it can process each file in that hot folder after which the concerning file is moved to the main storage. This way users can create their own ways for automating file additions from different places to this hot folder.

    I myself created a webdav connection from my server to a cloudprovider and have a cronjob…

  14. Allow revision of document before review

    If a user without 'reviewer' access, edits a document; they cannot make any more changes until it has been reviewed.
    If the department's 'reviewer' is out of the office, the document is unavailable to everyone.
    One also can't give everyone in the department 'reviewer' access, or they can see all of the department's documents.
    There are 3 issues:
    - A 'non-reviewed checked-in' document is unavailable for viewing by everyone; including the last approved revision.
    - A 'reviewer' can see all department documents, regardless of their file permissions. They should only be able to review documents where they are the 'owner'…

    i checked the home page of this, does not lists the available documents.

    Appreciate if this can be designed as department wise so that list of user assigned for that specific department only can see those documents.

    Appreciate if home screen can be customized so that admin can make the home screen to different for up-loader and viewer different

  17. Implement QR code protection of physical copies of a document

    Physical copies of digital documents need some way to be secured. I suggest a QR code to be generated for a particular version of a document, and printed somewhere on the physical copy. The QR code should contain an obfuscated link to the digital copy, which allows a person to verify that the physical copy has not been tampered with. (Other than the addition of the QR code.)

  18. ascending/descending sort not work in Japanese

    ascending/descending file sort results "no files found" in Japanese environment.

    I don't know why, perhaps because Japanese is 2 bytes language. If this is the cause, this symptom would occurs in Chinese as well.
